“We cannot stop earthquakes, we cannot prevent droughts... but when we know where the hungry, the homeless and the sick exist, then we can help.”
WHAT CAN I DO TO
This month at CharitySub we’ve selected three great charities that give to those who need it most - the homeless. While they will always need access to food and shelter, the landscape of the homeless problem has shifted. Families are now the fastest growing demographic
of homeless , and the lack of affordable housing is an on-going problem in both rural and urban areas. Join us as we learn more about the problem, and what our charities do to support the homeless and the hungry.
As the weather gets colder and the season of giving is upon us, this month’s CharitySub partners give our nation’s homeless a little extra help. Make a charity selection today, and let’s work together to help the homeless!
The Coalition for the Homeless works through both advocacy and service programs that work directly with homeless people in New York City. Through these programs they are able to help 3,500 homeless people everyday.
Family Promise works to provide comprehensive homeless assistance to families. By working with 6,000 houses of worship of all faiths, they are able to provide housing, meals, and job support to help homeless families get back on their feet.
Since 1989 The National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty (NLCHP) has been working through the legal branch to create and defend laws that support the rights of the homeless.
